Today (May 6, 2011), Ismail Maskromo met with his four PhD advisory committee members. Ismail’s PhD committee members are  Prof. Sudarsono (chairman), Prof. Hengki Novarianto, Dr. Sukendah, and Dr. Dewi Sukma (members). The targets of the advisory meeting were to outline what is Ismail’s plans for the PhD dissertation research, obtain feedback from the advisory committee research plans, and decide the consensus of the target of his PhD dissertation research.

After three hours of serious discussion,  the consensus of Ismail’s PhD dissertation research is formulated. Ismail’s PhD dissertation research will answer three questions associated with ‘Kopyor’ coconut mutant, such as: (1) how are the genetic diversities of ‘Kopyor’ coconut mutant populations from various regions in Indonesia, (2) how are the impacts of controlled pollination on the frequency of ‘Kopyor’ coconut fruits, and (3) how to identify coconut plants that will produce ‘Kopyor’ coconut fruit at the seedling level.

All PMB Lab staffs and associated students congratulate Ismail Maskromo for completing the formulation of his dissertation research plans. We all hope that he will be able to execute the activities and written the results into a comprehensive PhD disertation document.
