Prof. Dr. Tatik Wardiyati, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Kaswanto, Dr. Ellis Nihayati, and Dr. Azizah attended the ‘Temulawak’ Seminar at IPB International Convention Center, Bogor. Prof Tatik and her colleagues are from Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University, Malang, Indonesia. Prof Tatik is a professor in horticulture and Prof. Kaswanto is in plant breeding laboratories, respectively. Mrs. Nihayati and Mrs. Azizah are both staffs at the Department of Agronomy.

While attending the seminar, in May 27, 2011, Prof Tatik and her colleagues paid a visit to Department of Agronomy and Horticulture (AGH), Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Darmaga Campus, Bogor. While visiting AGH and met with the Head of AGH Dept. (Dr. Agus Purwito), they stopped by PMB Lab for a short discussion with Prof. Sudarsono.

During the short discussion, Prof. Sudarsono described the ongoing research about ‘Kopyor’ mutant in coconut and Fusarium oxysporum fsp. cubense (Foc) resistance in banana. Prof. Sudarsono also described the academic progress of Mr. Darmawan Saptadi. Mr. Darmawan is a PhD candidate working in PMB Lab. His dissertation research is molecular marker (SSR) analysis in Jatropha curcas and its related species. Mr. Darmawan is also staff member of Plant Breeding Laboratory,  Department of Agronomy, Fac. of Agriculture, Brawijaya University.

PMB Lab staffs and associated students thanks Prof. Tatik and her colleagues for visiting PMB Lab. We hope that Prof Tatik and her colleagues enjoy their stay in Bogor. We also hope that we can pay a return visit to Brawijaya University sometimes soon.
