Dini Dinarti, an alumnus of PMB Lab. (S2 Program) who is in Beltsville-Maryland, USA for a three months training in cacao biotechnology sent PMB Lab. updates of her activities. Dini said that she has finished analyzing a complete six sets of SSR primers out of 15 she plans to do.
At this moment, she will try to use those data to analyze her cacao accessions for duplicate samples. Once the duplicate samples identified, she will further analyze the cacao accessions using nine more SSR primer sets. Base on the number of samples she would drop and the rate of her work, she estimates that she will complete SSR analysis by the end of June. Once she complete data collection, she will use the data for diversity analysis and clone identification.
Dini Dinarti also informed PMB Lab that on Wednesday June 22, 2011 she was invited as WCF Fellows to Chocolate Festival at KBRI-Washington DC. The purpose of this festival is to raise funding from US chocolate company for Cacao development in Indonesia. PMB Lab hope that she would tell us the story about her attendance in Chocolate Festival at DC.
All PMB Lab staffs and associated graduate students wish Dini Dinarti success in her lab activities. We also hope that the goals of raising funding for cacao development in Indonesia through Chocolate Festival she participated will be successful.
