Rini Ismayanti thesis research is about pollen dispersal in Kopyor coconut. She works at PMB Lab to complete her MSc. thesis research.

Rini Ismayanti, an S2 (MSc.) graduate student associated with PMB Lab, did her S2 (MSc.) research proposal seminar (“Kolokium“) on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 10.00-11.00. The title of her research proposal seminar was about Pollen Dispersal and Kopyor Coconut Production

Rini Ismayanti is pursuing her S2 (MSc.) degree at Plant Breeding and Biotechnology (PBT) major, School of Graduate Studies, IPB, Bogor since 2010. She does all her S2 (MSc.) research at PMB Lab., Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, IPBm Bogor-Indonesia. Currently, she has completed almost all the academic course requirements for her S2 (MSc.) degree and been in the process of conducting her S2 (MSc.) thesis research.

One of Rini Ismayanti significant question that she want to answer in her S2 (MSc.) thesis research is how will the pollen dispersal affects yield of “Kopyor” fruits of coconut. To answer such a question, Rini Ismayanti will use SSR marker to genotype the selected male parents, the potential male parents, and the progeny population harvested from selected female parents, respectively. Subsequently, she will evaluate the potential male parent for the progeny based on the typed genotypes of the analyzed progeny, male and female parents. Her research finding will be useful in setting up and managing the Kopyor coconut plantations in the field.

PMB Lab staffs and associated graduate students congratulate Rini Ismayanti for successfully completing her S2 (MSc.) research proposal seminar (“Kolokium“). We hope that she will be able to start conducting her S2 (MSc.) thesis research and completing her S2 (MSc.) program in due time.
