Congratulation to Dr. Agus Purwito, Dr. Nurul Khumaida and Dr. Dewi Sukma for Their Approved Research Proposals

Three staff members of Plant Biotechnology Section Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, Fac. Of Agriculture, IPB, Bogor have been successfull in competting for research funding through the scheme of “Hibah Penelitian Desentralisasi – 2013. In addition to those three staffs, the other six staffs from other section in the Department of Agrononomy and Horticulture have also been awarded funding from similar decentralization schemes.

Dr. Agus Purwito (PI), Dr. Nurul Khumaid (PI), and Dr. Dewi Sukma (Research Team Member, with Dr. Sandra M. Azis as the PI) are the three Plant Biotechnology Section staffs who have been awarded with the funding. The research title that Dr. Purwito will conduct is Cellular and Molecular manipulation to increase fruit quality of citrus ( aka. Jeruk Siam). Dr. Khumaida research activity will be Development of low HCN ‘Ubi Kayu’ (Manihot esculenta) variety, tolerant against drought or acidic soil. While the research activity that Dr. Dewi Sukma will involve is Increasing Phalaenopsis orchid genetic diversities through polyploidization to support development of new and superior orchid variety.

All PMB Lab staffs and associated graduate students congratulate Dr. Purwito, Dr. Khumaida, and Dr. Dewi Sukma for their success in getting the research funds. We hope that the available fund will be beneficial for the execution of their research activities.
