Plant and Animal Genome (PAG) is coming to Asia in 2013. This prestigious scientific meeting usually is conducted every year in the USA. It is a very good opportunity to come to the symposium and hear what other people say about the progress in genomic research. The PAG Asia is conducted in 17-19 March 2012 at Grand Capthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore.
Ismail Maskromo, a PhD student associated with PMB Lab and Prof. Sudarsono – staff of PMB Lab. Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), have the opportunity to come to the PAG Asia 2013. They are not just come to PAG Asia 2013 as participants but they also presented two poster presentations describing part of research results of two PMB Lab associated PhD students.
Ismail Maskromo will present a poster describing part of his PhD dissertation results, entitle: “Isolation and Characterization of Sucrose Synthase and Abscisic Acid Insensitive Genomic Fragments from Kopyor Coconut and Development of SNAP Markers for Kopyor Phenotype.” While Prof. Sudarsono present a poster describing part of Agus Sutanto, another PhD s student associated with PMB Lab, PhD dissertation results, entitle: “Isolation and Charactetization of NBS-LRR genomic Fragments from Banana and Development of SNAP Markers for Resistance against Fusarium oxysporum fsp. Cubense (Foc) .” Agus Sutanto is supposed to present the poster in PAG Asia 2013. Unfortunately, he has to go for a trip to various regions in Eastern Site of Indonesia to collect for samples of wild banana species and he is not willing to travel to Singapore.
All PMB Lab staffs and associated graduate students wish Pak Ismail and Pak Sudarsono a safe trip to PAG Asia 2013. We hope that they will have a fruitfull trip and bring many new and useful informations back to PMB Lab.
