While visiting Bogor, Dr. Yusnita and Dr. Hapsoro stopped by PMB Lab and had a little discussion with Prof. Sudarsono. Dr. Yusnita also informed us at PMB Lab about her two books that have just published. One of the book is about micro-propagation and the other is about orchid breeding. She have donated those two books to PMB Lab collections and Prof. Sudarsono receives the books.
During the short visit to PMB Lab, they also discussed the current situations related to quality of scientific publications in Indonesia. They are very concerned with the generally low quality of the scientific publications and the occurrences of a number of incorrect authorship phenomena. They also discussed the current rules about publication credit points, that are interpreted differently in different universities. Such conditions tend to make it difficult for university staffs to fulfill their publication credits and get their promotion.
Aside from that, Dr. Yusnita ad Dr. Hapsoro also mentioned a number of research activities that have been done after finishing their PhD. program. “In my opinion, both Dr. Yusnita and Dr. Hapsoro are very productive researchers who have obtained a number prestigious project from a number of funding agencies. I am not surprised that they are also productive in getting a number of scientific publications out of their research activities,” comment prof. Sudarsono about them.
Currently, Dr. Yusnita and Dr. Dwi Hapsoro are a lectures at the Agro-technology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung (UNILA), Lampung. They were both alumni associated with PMB Lab. They pursued their PhD degree and conducted their dissertation research at PMB Lab under the coordination of Prof. Sudarsono. They graduated around five years ago. They have published a number of scientific publications (more than three publications, respectively) based on their PhD. dissertations.
All PMB Lab staffs and associated graduate students wish Dr. Yusnita and Dr. Dwi Hapsoro more productive in years to come. Considering what they have done so far, we also wish that they will get their professorships soon. We thank you for their book donation and their visit to PMB Lab.
